The concept of this painting was to stretch an athletic perspective in an acrobatic movement- in this case the timing and the airborne kick of a soccer player. I exaggerated the sense of depth by bringing parts of his body into the forefront and fading others to play into the action. I also painted a facial expression of supreme effort and focus to recoil his body for the kick. The background was painted in a similar color scheme with the air moving like an aura to the opposing action in the composition.
