Title: High Gear  |  Limited Edition 50

This painting was to capture the speed of Jeff Gordon’s race car speeding down the track in the pursuit of another win. I painted with intense splashes of red to emphasize the brute muscle, scaring over the course and radiating heat of his racing car. To further emphasize the speed element, I painted the background centered on his rear tires driving his acceleration with strong flaring brushstrokes. The intensity of color reflects the similar intensity of NASCAR racing in the roar of their engines and the blur of their passing.
